As a photographer, there are many different projects that I enjoy shooting. Each challenges me to use my skills in a new and different way, and I learn something from everyone and everything that I shoot. Being a versatile photographer has significantly furthered my career. Here are some of the types of projects that I most enjoy shooting.
Nature & Travel
One of the most exciting parts of my job is the opportunity to shoot in a variety of different locations. I particularly enjoy shooting nature scenes because of the beauty and drama of the earth’s natural landforms. I also enjoy the majestical nature of shooting historical landmarks and the energy of shooting cityscapes. For me, travel photo shoots give me an incredible opportunity to capture some of the most extraordinary places on the planet.
As a photographer, a huge part of my business is taking portrait photos for families, couples, and individuals. I genuinely love getting to know so many wonderful people and capturing their best qualities through the camera. I shoot portraits for many different occasions, such as engagements, holiday photos, graduations, and much more.
I also enjoy event photography, because it gives me the opportunity to capture people having fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Event photography can be tricky because there is so much going on that it can be overwhelming. However, the trick is to look for the small moments that people will be happy to remember. I enjoy shooting a variety of events, such as birthdays, weddings, corporate events, festivals, and more.
Another exciting form of photography that I enjoy is shooting athletes at their best. Shooting athletic events is fun and challenging because you have to work quickly to capture the most dramatic and exciting pictures. I’ve tried my hand at shooting both team and individual sports in the past, and I’m always open to learning more.
No matter what I am shooting, I have found that the key is to focus on the emotion in the picture. This creates very evocative images that people love to look back at.
